Job Description
TCP’s are responsible for conducting traffic control for pipeline projects, construction projects and sites and work alongside pilots for temporary traffic control sites.
TCP’s follow a specifically designed traffic plan for lane closures, traffic detours with a physical setup and removal of devices such as barricades, pylons, signage and digital arrow boards.
APTA provides TCP’s with a hands-on training focused on safety, competency and proper procedures. The focus of the training is on safe procedures to move traffic around an obstruction or accident, or an Over-sized load.
